Trolley Carnival

Following the very successful walking ‘Trolley Carnival’ in 2014 organised for the Brownies’ Centenary Celebrations, we held the second carnival last year based on DISNEY FILMS/FAIRY TALES, and we hope this will now become an annual event.  Supermarket trolleys (kindly sponsored by Wanzl UK Ltd) are utilized as ‘Floats’ which are decorated by the entrants and this year our theme is SPACE. Entries are invited from anyone keen to dress up as astronauts, characters from Star Wars, Star Trek, etc, and who might be feeling creative enough to design a suitable trolley float.   Trolley floats are not mandatory, however, and walkers in costume are just as welcome.

The Carnival will proceed around some of the streets of the town, and finish at Acre Close Playing Field, and prizes/awards will be presented to the entries judged to be the best.

The route will consist of basically one lap of the Fun Run course,  starting in Murcott Road West at the top of Summerton Road, near to The Lawns. There will be a short break outside the Hod Carrier public house where the proprietors of the Hod Carrier have kindly agreed to offer cold drinks to the procession, and the organisers are very appreciative of this generous contribution to the event.

If any group or individual would like to enter the trolley walking carnival, then please apply by completing and returning the entry form below.
